Welp, it's been a cold one, everyone. The bright side: a bunch of my roller derby practices got cancelled (hard to practice in a lightly insulated warehouse in negative temperatures), which meant I was able to work late! Yay, I guess?

I mean, YAY!

Anyway, that means that this monthly goals post should be a fun one. Or at least more fun than usual. First, I'll update the progress on January's goals, then set new goals for February.

January 2019 goal update:

  1. Book Three of The Clan-Vampire Clash series: On hold (with beta readers).
    • Result: Success! Lol. Yes, I successfully left Book Three on hold.
  2. Book Four: Finalize outline. Stretch goal: Start in on the rough draft.
    • Result: Success! Book Four outline is DONE. And there was much celebration. I mean, yes, I didn't hit my stretch goal, but I hit my regular goal, and that's good enough for me.

  3. Season two of Sam's story (Troupe-only side story): Finish the developmental editing of the entire season. Line edit, copyedit, proofread, and publish Chapter Four to The Troupe (my readers group). Line edit Chapter Five and start in on copyediting.
    • Result: Ooooh, so close! I got the first two-thirds of this, but that last one caught me. Chapter Five (which is now Chapter Six, since I split Chapter Four into two chapters) is still in its line editing phase. But maybe I can still take this as a win since technically Chapter Five is ready to go to The Troupe, even if its content is radically different than the original Chapter Five?
  4. Analyze the results of A Brush with Betrayal's launch. Adapt both launch and promotion strategies accordingly.
    • Result: Success! The launch of A Brush with Betrayal is all analyzed now. The potential improvements I identified have been applied to future promotions and launches.
  5. Continue work with Amazon ads.
    • Result: Success! I mean, I wouldn't say my Amazon ads are working (yet), but I'm learning a ton and gathering data and doing all the things.
  6. Schedule cross promotions and giveaways through February and into March.
    • Result: Success! Giveaways are all scheduled and cross promotions are as scheduled as they can be (waiting for some people to get back to me).

February 2019 Goals

  1. Book Three of The Clan-Vampire Clash (title TBA): Address comments from beta readers. Stretch goal: Start in on the final(!) editing pass.
  2. Book Four of The Clan-Vampire Clash (title TBD): On hold.
  3. Season two of Sam's story (Troupe-only side story): Release Chapter 5 to The Troupe. Finish line editing for all of Chapter 6. Finish copyediting and final editing passes for Chapter 6, part 1. Release Chapter 6, part 1 to The Troupe. Stretch goal: Finish copyediting and final editing passes for all of Chapter 6.
  4. Close out the launch of A Brush with Betrayal. Start in on launch preparation for Book Three of The Clan-Vampire Clash series.
  5. Continue work with Amazon ads.
  6. Schedule cross promotions and giveaways through March and into April. Nail down remaining cross promotion in February.

And as usual, let's see what I was doing this time last year.
