March 2018 Goals

written by Betsy Flak on 2018-03-05

Here I am again, ready to report back on last month's goals and then pick some goals for this month. As usual, I'll go through my progress on February's goals, then decide on March's goals.

Update on February 2018 Goals

  1. Continue working on the A Brush with Vampires (The Clan-Vampire Clash: Book One) launch as shown in the launch schedule. Largest items include: writing the launch emails, preparing and preparing for the launch bonuses (TBA), and scheduling launch promotions.
    • Result: Mixed bag. The launch bonuses are all prepared and prepared for. The launch promotions are scheduled. Buuuuut I didn't get to the launch emails at all. The good news is that they are pretty much my number 1 priority for this week.
  2. Tweak Book 2 for the surprise ending change of A Brush with Vampires. Get about halfway through the print readthrough reading portion. Stretch goal: Get even farther!
    • Result: Super-Success! I'm actually all done with the print readthrough reading portion. I now have about a million and a half comments to address but that's a problem--er, activity--for March.
  3. Tweak Book 3 for the surprise ending change of A Brush with Vampires. Get through the next quarter or so of the self-editing for Book 3 (through what is currently marked as Chapter 27). Stretch goal: Get even farther!
    • Result: Let's go with "mixed bag" again. Technically, I only got through Chapter 26, but that was partially due to shifting my focus to pushing Book 2 through its print readthrough. (To be fair, I most likely was not going to get through Chapter 27 anyway, but I would have gotten through probably about half of it and finished it within a day or two of this very blog post.)
  4. Reminder goal: Have a way less stressful book launch this time around. Never forget!
    • Result: Mixed bag. I feel like I spread out the stress over a longer period of time, which maybe is the best I can hope for. I worked some long hours through February (and January too for that matter). I hope March won't be the same, but time will tell.

And now on to my March goals! Note: I'm taking a look at the ninety-day goals for January through March 2018 as I do this.

March 2018 Goals

  1. Launch A Brush with Vampires (The Clan-Vampire Clash: Book One) on March 20th! Make it as stress-free as possible by sticking to my launch schedule.
  2. Work on Book Two's print readthrough comments. Get about halfway through. Stretch goal: Finish them!
  3. Work on Book Three self-editing. Get through what is marked as Chapter 28 (will probably be something like Chapter 15 in the final version). Stretch goal: Get through what's marked as Chapter 31 to meet 90-day goals.
  4. Reminder goal: Have a way less stressful book launch this time around. Never forget!

As usual, let's see what I was doing this time last year because seeing progress is fun! And keep an eye out for April's update to see how March went and April's goals.
